You can pause smart charging for a while. Your car then charges straight away at full speed, whatever the electricity price.
How to use it
In the app, choose to pause smart charging or charge now, and pick how long. The name and place of this option differ per app.
During the pause, your car charges normally. Smart charging does not start or stop it.
When to use it
- Unplanned trip: you need range soon.
- Quick top-up: you want to add some charge right now.
- Testing: you want to check your charger or the connection to your car.
What happens after the pause
Smart charging resumes by itself. It looks at the current prices and your battery level, and then stops or continues charging based on your settings.
> Tip: if you always want your car to charge straight away, switch smart charging off for that car. Pausing is meant for one-off situations. See Smart Charging Settings Explained.
The charge limit set in your car still applies during a pause.
Need help?
Contact the support team of your app. If your app comes from your energy supplier, that is your energy supplier's customer service. Tell them your car brand and model, when it happened, and what the app showed. A screenshot of the app helps.
