Smart charging connects to your car through your car brand's official interface. It does not control your wallbox or charger. This gives better charging plans and works with any charger.
Why connecting to the car works better
More information, better plans
Your car knows its exact battery level, how long it needs to be full and whether it is charging. A charger only knows how much power flows through it. With the car's data, smart charging can plan charging much more precisely.
Any charger works
Smart charging controls the car, so any charging setup works: any wallbox, any brand, or a regular household socket. You do not need to buy specific hardware.
Official connections
All communication goes through the official interfaces of Tesla, BMW Group, Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen Group. This gives a reliable connection and proper data security.
Nothing to install
There is nothing to install, wire or set up on the charger. Add your car in the app with your car brand's account and smart charging starts.
What about my smart charger's own features?
If your wallbox has its own smart charging or scheduling, turn it off. Two systems controlling the same charging session can cause unexpected behaviour. Leave your charger in "always on" or "plug and charge" mode and let the app plan charging.
